Not what we expected from South America at all. It broke us in gently to generally less devloped continent after being in Oz and New Zealand for soo long. Santiago was just like another Spanish city. We went there expecting to try out the local cuisine but that seemed to consist of hot dogs and other types of fast food. They did have some of the nicest buses we have ever been on though!
